SVH Social Responsability
Why SVH Social Responsability?
Holding the Social Responsability qualification means you know how to take action in difficult situations—for example, when dealing with intoxicated, threatening, or violent guests.
This qualification is crucial because businesses and organizations that serve alcohol must comply with the Social Responsability requirement set out in the Licensing and Catering Act. SVH develops the exams and study materials for this specialization, allowing you to take the exam and obtain the SVH Social Responsability Diploma.
The Licensing and Catering Act mandates that owners of businesses serving alcohol hold the "Statement of Knowledge and Insight regarding Social Responsability" (its full official title). You obtain this statement by passing the Social Responsability exam. Furthermore, a person holding the Social Responsability diploma must always be present at the premises where alcohol is served; this could be the business owner, a manager, or an employee.
Associations, foundations, and off-licence liquor stores
For "para-commercial" institutions—such as associations and foundations that also engage in hospitality activities—at least two individuals must be listed on the hospitality license. Both of these individuals are required to hold the Statement of Knowledge and Insight regarding Social Responsability. There is a separate exam for off-licence liquor store operators that includes questions specific to that sector.

As a Mentor in Hospitality, you are pivotal to the development of trainees and employees. You know how to motivate them to advance in their careers and provide the necessary guidance along the way.
The Mentor in Hospitality specialization allows you to become a certified master trainer. SVH develops the exams and learning materials—such as books and e-learning modules—for this qualification. You can take the exam to earn the SVH Mentor in Hospitality Diploma. To obtain this diploma, you must successfully complete three exams: the theory exam, the practical exam on coaching and guidance, and the portfolio exam. Once you hold the SVH Master Trainer Diploma and wish to deepen your expertise further, you can obtain the SVH Mentor in Hospitality+ Diploma.

SVH Mentor + in Hospitality
Mentor + in Hospitality program teaches you how to assess your colleagues officially and objectively, and subsequently certify them with SVH Practical Certificates. These practical certificates lead to SVH Diplomas (rather than standard MBO diplomas at level 2, 3, or 4). This allows you to create a bespoke practical training program for your company. It requires specific skills and insights that you will acquire through this specialization. The program also covers teaching skills and how to handle various types of behavior. Who is Mentor + in Hospitality for?
SVH Mentor + in Hospitality is intended for:
- practical trainers (Mentor in Hospitality) who hold the SVH Mentor in Hospitality Diploma (or equivalent);
- teachers with a second- or first-degree teaching qualification, a didactic certification, or a primary education teaching degree (PABO).
